William Appelman, founder of HakaWorkshops.nl, has been using the haka as a team-building and development tool since 2017. Inspired by his own experiences with resilience and the New Zealand rugby team, he developed the Haka Creative, a tool that allows teams to express their own stories. This brings teams, as he calls it (and what he sees happening), from "head to heart," empowering them, and connecting team members from this other layer. The Dutch down-to-earth approach and detachment then becomes Dutch warmth and connection. Not bombastic and vague, but concrete, tangible, and always with a smile. This is his story.
